The President of the Republic decorated, with the grade of Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator, the President of the Portuguese Olympic Committee and three Olympic medallists.

Decorations were awarded to Dr. José Manuel Constantino, President of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, and the three Olympic medallists Hugo Rocha, Nuno Barreto and Sérgio Paulinho.

The ceremony ended with a speech delivered by President Cavaco Silva.
