The President of the Republic decorated, with the grade of Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator, the Chairman of the Portuguese Football League, Dr. Fernando Gomes, and with several grades of the Orders of Prince Henry the Navigator and of the Order of Merit, the players, coaches and managers of the National Beach Soccer Team which, in 2015, had won the World and European Championships of this sport.

During the ceremony, held in the Palace of Belém, President Cavaco Silva delivered a speech.

The Captain of the National Team, Madjer, received the decorations awarded to players Bê, Elinton and Leo, who were absent abroad.
