At the beginning of the State Visit he is holding to Portugal, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, met with President Cavaco Silva in the Palace of Belém.

After laying a wreath on the tomb of Luis Vaz de Camões, in Jerónimos Monastery, President Rosen Plevneliev headed to the Palace of Belém, where he was rendered military honours.

The President of the Republic held a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart, which was followed by a meeting between the two Heads of State and their respective retinues.

At the end of the working meeting, both Presidents addressed statements to the media.
