The President of the Republic met, in the cloisters of Lamego Cathedral, with individualities which excelled in the fields of their activities in Portugal and abroad.

At the meeting, President Cavaco Silva had the opportunity to hold contacts with researchers, entrepreneurs, artists, sports persons, officers of associations, most of them belonging in the younger generations, and delivered an address.

This was followed by a luncheon, usually held during the celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, at the end of which the President visited the Cathedral’s High Choir and inaugurated, in the Diocesan Museum, the exhibition “Santiago for Portugal”, organized by the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.
