The President of the Republic took part, in New York, in the opening session of the Summit of Leaders in the Fight Against ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and The Levant) and Violent Extremism, called by the President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Held in parallel with the 70th United Nations General Meeting, the Summit took place in the UN Headquarters with the participation of more than one hundred Heads of State and of Government.
