The President of the Republic will carry out a State Visit to Romania, at the invitation of the President of the Romanian Republic, Klaus Werner Iohannis, on 17 and 18 June instant.

During the visit, the President of the Republic will be received by the President of the Romanian Republic, by the Prime Minister, Victor Ponta, by the President of the Senate, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, and by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea. The President of the Republic will also hold an encounter with the Portuguese Community resident in Romania.

The visit will especially cover the economic, entrepreneurial and investment areas, with initiatives included in these fields. The President will open the Romania-Portugal Entrepreneurial Forum, which will bring together Portuguese and Romanian entrepreneurs, and approach business and investment opportunities, as well as the strengthening of cooperation between companies from both countries. The President of the Republic will also visit the project of the Portuguese company Sonae Sierra, under construction in the Bucharest area.

Emphasis will also be placed on cultural and language features, and the President of the Republic will visit the Central University Library, to take part in the closing ceremony of a Conference on Portugal-Romania cultural relations.

In this visit, the President of the Republic will be accompanied by Mrs. Cavaco Silva, by members of the Government, members of Parliament and an entrepreneurial delegation.
