The President of the Republic visited the Monforqueijo and Fertiprado companies, as well as the Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, in the county of Monforte, when carrying out a digression in North Alentejo.

In Rossio da Feira, Monforte, President Cavaco Silva visited the Monforqueijo works, going through the several facilities for the production, storage and distribution of cheese.

In the same county, the President visited, in Vaiamonte, the Fertiprado company which produces seeds for pastures and cattle fodder, and is also dedicated to sheep raising for milk production.

Later, President Cavaco Silva visited the Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, where the Monforte County Council held a welcoming session, during which the Head of State delivered an address.

The President also had the occasion, in this hotel, to attend an equestrian demonstration and the presentation of falconry birds.
