On the occasion of the campaign dedicated to Fisheries the President of the republic visited, in Ílhavo, the Materaqua aquiculture nurseries, where several types of fishes are produced, such as bream and meagre, oysters and other bivalves.

Later, President Cavaco Silva visit the Algaplus algae production unit, intended for food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical drugs.

After this, in the Ílhavo Maritime Museum, the President took part in a working lunch with representatives of the Fishing industry, where he delivered an address.
