Included in the programme of the Celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the President of the Republic attended the closure of the Youth Meeting “The Essence of Inwardness and the Challenges of Junior Emancipation”, organized by the National Youth Council.

The meeting, held in the Douro Catering and Tourism School, was attended by more than 90 young people from several regions of the Country and some from abroad, which comprised three working groups, approaching “Education and Qualification”, “Employment and Local Economy”, and “Access to Information and Participation”.

At the entrance to the closing session, the Lamego Academic Students Band enacted a performance for the participants in the Meeting.

After the presentation of the working groups’ recommendations, President Cavaco Silva delivered an address.
