The President of the Republic presided at the award ceremony of the 2014 Pessoa Prize, held in the Culturgest auditorium, in Lisbon, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of this trophy.

For the year of 2014 the prize was awarded to Prof. Doctor Henrique Leitão, who developed the innovatory work in the Portuguese and peninsular historic-scientific legacy for Modernity.
