The President of the Republic decorated, with the Grand Cross of Prince Henry the Navigator, the Representative of the Republic for the Madeira Autonomous Region, Councillor Ireneu Cabral Barreto.

Also present at the ceremony was the Representative of the Republic for the Azores Autonomous Region, Ambassador Pedro Catarino.
