The President of the Republic visited, in Torres Novas, the Public Security Police Training School where, after having received a briefing on the organization, he went through the facilities and attended classes and practice of the several components comprised in the training of agents and police chiefs.

In a ceremony held during the visit, President Cavaco Silva delivered a speech and awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator to the National Director of the Public Security Police, Chief Superintendent Luis Farinha.
