Council of State was heard with respect to Madeira

The Council of State was unanimously in favour of the dissolution of the Madeira Parliament

The President of the Republic presided today over a meeting of the Council of State, which had been called subsequently to the resignation of the Regional Government of Madeira and after the hearing of the views of the political parties represented in the Parliament of that Autonomous Region. When the meeting was over, the following notice was made public:

"The Council of State, which met today, in the Palace of Belem, in accordance with the provisions of item a) of Article No. 145 of the Constitution of the Republic, was unanimously in favour of the dissolution of the Parliament of Madeira Autonomous Region”.
