The President of the Republic opened officially, in the Chancellery of the University of Madeira, in Funchal, an exhibition covering the heritage of the Madeira Autonomous Region.

Later, in the Museum of Sacred Art, in the capital of Madeira, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva visited an exhibition of the Crown Jewels.
