President took the Route to Inclusion to inland Alentejo

Work meeting with local councillors of the District of Beja and Alcoutim completed the first day on the President’s Tour

After the inland Algarve, the Route to Inclusion launched by President Cavaco Silva took him to the Alentejo, where he came into contact in Mértola with programmes to fight social exclusion implemented by the local Town Hall, the Santa Casa da Misericórdia and by the Voluntary Work Centre.

Dealing with the subject of the Peripheral Regions, fighting aging and social exclusion, the first stage on the Tour followed with a visit to the Social Centre of Montes Altos and closed in Minas de S. Domingos, with a work meeting with the local councillors of the District of Beja and the district of Alcoutim.
