As a guest of the University of Minho Academic Association, the President of the Republic attended, in Braga, the closure of the “Live Democracy” Seminar, organized by the Association, the last event of which was included in the Route to Youth, of which the third campaign is held under the topic “The initiatives of Youth”.

Welcomed by the students and musical bands of the Braga Academy, the President attended the presentation of the paper on “The cost of living of the University of Minho student”, and of the projects “Sowing Voluntary Work” and “Live Democracy”, the latter launched jointly with Minho University Radio and whose objective was to encourage participation in democratic processes.

After addressing a speech to a mainly student audience, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva viewed the exhibition “Painting a Better World”, born out of a solidarity project in which the amounts received from the sale of the pictures painted by the students are distributed to social solidarity institutions.
