Following his Route of the Local Innovatory Communities, the President of the Republic visited three greatly successful instances of social innovation in the counties of the Entre Douro e Vouga Region.

In Espinho, the President visited the local CERCI, to view the Training and Social Innovation Centre. He then went on to Maceda, Ovar, where he was received in the Deficiprodut Company, which employs a majority of handicapped workers. The Centre for Professional Training of the São João da Madeira Shoemaking Industry was the last call of the afternoon programme of the Route.
