Mister President and Dear Friend,

I was deeply affected upon receiving the news of the tragic aircraft accident occurred in the City of São Paulo.

In this hour of mourning for all the people of Brazil, I wish to offer Your Excellency and the families of the victims of this disaster, on behalf of the people of Portugal and in my own personal name, our deepest feelings of sadness and friendship and our most sincere condolences.
