The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations regarding the award of the Kenneth Hudson Prize, from the European Museum Forum, to the Batalha County Community Museum.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“Upon being advised of the award of the Kenneth Hudson Prize to the Batalha County Community Museum. I am very pleased to congratulate the Mayor, Dr. António Lucas and all the people of Batalha County.

This prize signals the international recognition attained by the work that the Batalha Museum is carrying out on behalf of the disclosure of our culture, thus contributing to the County’s history and pre-history.

I am thus pleased with the award attributed by the European Museum Forum to the Batalha Museum that I took pride in opening in 2011, and express my wishes for the continued success that it has attained in the past two years.
