President Cavaco Silva sent message of regret to President Barack Obama for the consequences arising from the storm that hit the East Coast of the USA

The President of the Republic addressed a message of regret to the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, over the consequences arising out of the path of hurricane Sandy along the country’s East Coast.

Following is the text of the message of condolences sent by President Cavaco Silva:

“Mister President,

Greatly desolate with the news of the tragic consequences arising from the passage of hurricane Sandy on the East Coast of the United States of America, that has resulted in dozens of mortal victims and enormous material damages, I want to present Your Excellency, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our feelings of deepest regret and our heartfelt solidarity.
