The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of Paulo Lowndes Marques.

Following is the text of the message of condolences addressed by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:

"Upon being advised of the passing away of Paulo Lowndes Marques, I address to the bereaved Family my very deepest condolences.

Endowed with great cultural knowledge and human sensitivity, Paulo Lowndes Marques was singled out by his cult for civility and a deep abidance to the values he believed in, from which he never diverted throughout his career as a lawyer and as a public individuality that aspired for Portugal to become a more democratic, fairer and freer country.
