It is with great sadness that the President of the Republic, on behalf of the Portuguese people and in his own personal name, addresses his condolences upon the passing away of João Soares Louro, an enterprising citizen who stood out in the defence of the public interest and for his great managerial qualities, specially in the realms of radio and television in Portugal.

I pay tribute to the memory of João Soares Louro, an individuality who deserved the regard of all those that worked and congregated with him throughout his life and have felt the shock of his departure.

I convey to the Family of João Soares Louro my deepest sympathy.
