I was deeply desolated upon receiving the distressing news of the passing away of Her Royal Highness Princess Marie-Adelaide of Luxembourg, Aunt of Your Royal Highness.

In this hour of sadness I wish to extend to Your Royal Highness, on behalf of the Portuguese People, in my own name and in that of my Wife, our deepest condolences and profound regrets.
