Upon receiving the sad news of the passing away of Writer Maria Gabriela Llansol, the President of the Republic presents sincere condolences to the bereaved family and pays tribute to the authoress of one of the more remarkable works of Portuguese contemporary literature.

Due to her originality and nonconformism, the literary works of Gabriela Llansol justify the regard felt by so many readers and will surely endure as an unmistakable reference which greatly enriches the diversity of our literary heritage.
