Beginning the visit he is holding to Portugal, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza, held a meeting with President Cavaco Silva.

After a brief visit to the Jerónimos Monastery, where he laid a wreath on the tomb of Luis Vaz de Camões, the President of the Republic of Mozambique left for the Palace of Belém, where he was rendered military honours.

The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva held a brief encounter with the Mozambican President and Mrs. Maria da Luz Guebuza, which was followed by a meeting between the two Heads of State and their respective retinues.

At the end of the working meeting, the two Presidents held a press conference.
