President awarded North-South Prize to Maura Lynch and André Azoulay

The President of the Republic presided over the XX Award Ceremony of the North South Prize of the Council of Europe, and handed the prizes to obstetric surgeon Maura Lynch and to economist André Azoulay, Councillor to His Majesty the King of Morocco, two individualities who became distinguished by their actions on behalf of respect and dignity of the human being and for the intercultural dialogue among peoples.

The ceremony was held in the Senate Hall of the House of Parliament, a speech being then delivered by President Cavaco Silva.
