The President of the Republic addressed a speech and decorated a number of individualities in the Commemorative Ceremony of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, held in Lamego Multipurpose Centre.

An address had previously been delivered by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Celebrations, Prof. Doctor Elvira Fortunato.

After the Ceremony, the Mayor of Lamego, Eng. Francisco Lopes, hosted a luncheon in honour of the National day of Portugal, in Pacheca Estate.
