The President of the Republic presided, in Feira Square, Lamego, at the Military Ceremony held in celebration of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, in which took part representative units of the three Branches of the Armed Forces.

The march past comprised personnel from the Fast Reaction Brigade, Fusiliers from the Landing Light Battalion and the Force Protection Unit, with overflights carried out by the Air Force and parachute jumping exercises.

Former Armed Forces combatants also took part in the march past.

President Cavaco Silva addressed a speech at the ceremony.
