With a tribute paying ceremony to the industry, which included the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Portuguese Textile & Clothing Association (ATP), the President of the Republic ended, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, the 4th Campaign of the Route to a Dynamic Economy.

Prior to this, President Cavaco Silva had visited the company Riopele, viewing its Research and Development, Modelling and Processing areas.

Later, the President visited CeNTI-Nanotechnology and Technical, Functional and Intelligent Materials Centre, and CITEVE – Technological Centre of Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industry, institutions where he viewed their laboratory and research facilities.

Lastly, the tribute paying ceremony to the Textile and Clothing industry and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of ATP took place in the CITEVE auditorium, during which President Cavaco Silva delivered an address.

At the ceremony, the President decorated several individualities of the sector with the grade of Commander of the Order of Entrepreneurial Merit, Class of Industrial Merit.

Those decorated were Alberto Queiroga Figueiredo (Impetus), Ana Sousa (Flor da Moda & Ana Sousa), José Vilas Boas Ferreira (Valérius Group), Maria da Conceição Martins Dias (Diastêxtil Group), Mário Jorge Machado (Estamparia Têxtil Adalberto Pinto da Silva), and Sérgio Manuel da Silva Neto (Petrotex).
