The President of the Republic presided at the meeting of the Council of State, called after the hearing of the political parties represented in the Madeira Legislative Assembly, following the resignation of the Regional Government.

At the end of the Council’s meeting, the following communiqué was disclosed:

“The President of the Republic held a meeting of the Council of State on this date, for the purposes of article no. 145, item a), second part, of the Constitution, the Council having unanimously given a favourable view on the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly of the Madeira Autonomous Region”
