The President of the Republic took part, as a guest, in Maputo, the investiture ceremonies of the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, held in Independence Square.

Later, in Ponta Vermelha Palace, President Cavaco Silva attended the official reception hosted by President Nyusi in honour of the foreign dignitaries present in the ceremonies.

The Portuguese Government was represented in the ceremonies by Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas, and the Secretary of State For Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Luis Campos Ferreira, also attended the events.
