The President of the Republic empowered new Members of the Council of National Orders and of the Council of the Orders of Civil Merit.

Empowered as Members of the Council of National Orders were Eng. João António Gomes Proença, Prof. Doctor Rui Manuel Monteiro Lopes Ramos and Dr. Carlos Vicente Morais Beato. Dr. Eugénio José da Cruz Fonseca was empowered as Member of the Council of the Orders of Civil Merit.
