The President of the Republic addressed a speech and awarded decorations to a number of individualities and institutions during the Commemorative Ceremonial Session of the National day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, held in the Guarda Municipal Theatre.

Prior to this an address was delivered by the President of the Organizing Committee of the Celebrations, Dr. José da Silva Peneda.
