Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the “Exhibition of Bronzes and Jades from Ancient China from the José de Guimarães Collection”, on show at the Museum of the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre, in Lisbon.
Meeting in Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva promoted an Encounter, in the Palace of Belém, with Adoptive Mothers – Women from many parts of the Country, some of them with biological offspring, who have adopted children of differing ages and in diverse circumstances.
Procession in the capital’s streets
Mts. Cavaco Silva took part in the procession of Our Lady of Good Health, one of Lisbon’s religious traditions, which progressed through several of the capital’s streets.
New Magic Glow Worm Campaign
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the Lisbon Aquarium, in Nation’s Park, the opening ceremony of the 2012 Magic Glow Worm Campaign, organized by the National Federation of Social Solidarity Cooperative Societies – FENACERCI, during which she delivered a speech.
Exhibitions in the Monastery of Alcobaça
On the occasion of the Commemoration of the 650 years of the Transfer of the Remains of Dona Inês de Castro from the Monastery of Santa Clara in Coimbra to the Monastery of Alcobaça, Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the temporary exhibitions allusive to the life of Dona Inês de Castro, on show in the Monastery’s Gallery.
Launching of the book “Lokomotywa”
Mrs. Cavaco Silva accompanied the Wife of the President of the Republic of Poland, Mrs. Anna Komorowska, on a visit to the Alto de Algés Basic School, on the occasion of the launching of the Portuguese translation of the book of poetry for children “Lokomotywa” by Polish author Julian Twim.
Recording of audio book
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Visually Deficient Reading Service of the National Library (LDV), during which she recorded an audio book - the short story “The Home of the Sea”, by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, available from now on to the users of this service.
Donations handed over in Belém.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, the participants in the 2011 Diplomatic Bazaar, during which the First Lady received the donations for the social solidarity institutions based upon the revenue obtained in the event.
Exhibition in Cordoaria Nacional
Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided at the pre inaugural act of the Arts and Antiquities Fair, held in the Cordoaria Nacional Building, in Lisbon. Revenues will revert in favour of the New Future Association.
Contacts with the work of the Portuguese artists
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited, with the Wife of the Austrian President, Mrs. Margit Fischer, the studio of artist Joana Vasconcelos.
