Tribute to Vasco Graça Moura

World Poetry Day celebrated with event in the Palace of Belém

In an event launched with the theme “The poem is a Greeting, the poem is a Farewell”, actors, musicians and singers performed on a stage installed in the Palace of Belém, in celebration of the World Poetry Day, a programme organized by Mrs. Cavaco Silva.

The opportunity was also taken to pay a tribute to Vasco Graça Moura, recalled by his peers, family and friends, through the recital of poetical texts.

On this World Poetry Day the cast included Afonso Reis Cabral, Ana Lopes Gomes, Antonieta Lopes da Costa, Diogo Dória, Emília Silvestre, Fernando Pinto do Amaral, Filipa Leal, Jorge Reis Sá, Mafalda Ribeiro, Maria Alzira Seix, Mariana Montez, Pedro Rapoula, Raquel Marinho and Tiago Patrício.

The programme also comprised musical intervals, with fado singers Duarte and Katia Guerreiro, and Teresa Lopes Alves, accompanied on the piano by Ruben Alves, and also the singer and composer Janeiro, who interpreted original compositions, amongst which poems by Vasco Graça Moura. The youngster Pedro Kayapó (Pedro Dias) recalled Carlos Paredes in his Portuguese guitar.
