During the 2nd Campaign of the Route to Heritage, dedicated to the Provinces of Beira and Douro Litoral, the President of the Republic visited the Coimbra Old Cathedral.

In the beginning of the 2nd Campaign of the Route to Heritage, dedicated to the Provinces of Beira and Douro Litoral, the President of the Republic visited the Monastery of Santa Cruz, in Coimbra, laid a wreath of flowers on the tomb of the first King of Portugal D. Afonso Henriques, and viewed the church, the cloisters and the high choir.

Concluding the 3rd Campaign of his Route to Science, dedicated to Sciences and Technologies of the Sea, the President of the Republic visited, in Faro, the Gambelas Campus of the University of Faro.
President Cavaco Silva in the headquarters of IPIMAR
During a visit to the Regional Fisheries Research Centre of the South, in Olhão, the President of the Republic assisted to a presentation of the activities of the Institute for Research of Fisheries and the Sea (IPIMAR), and viewed the Laboratory of Fisheries Biology and the Fish Farming Pilot Plant.
Lunch with researchers
In the 3rd Campaign of the Route to Science, dedicated to Sciences and Technologies of the Sea, the President of the Republic lunched, in Faro, with researchers and experts in those areas.
Young people show science to the President
The President of the Republic visited, in Faro, the Algarve Live Sciences Centre, viewing the exhibition “The Sea” through which he was guided by a group of young people.
On board the oceanographic ship
In the port of Horta, the President of the Republic boarded the oceanographic ship of the Portuguese Navy "Almirante Gago Coutinho", where a presentation was made on the activities of the Hydrographical Institute and the studies relating to the Extension of the Continental Shelf. At the same time the President was shown the ship’s operational systems and scientific equipment.
Research in oceanography and fisheries
In the third campaign of the Route to Science, dedicated to Sciences and Technologies of the Sea, which was based in the city of Horta, the President of the Republic visited the Department of Oceanography and Fisheries of Azores University, with special regard to the Laboratories of Exo-Toxicology, Molecular Biology, LabHorta and Oceanography, and also the Centre of Virtual Marine Interpretation.
Alentejo village witnessed a presidential initiative
The village of Mértola was the last stop of Campaign 1 of the Route to Heritage promoted by the President of the Republic, and dedicated to Lower Alentejo.
Route to Heritage in the district of Beja
Campaign 1 of the Route to Heritage, launched by the President of the Republic under the theme “Cultural Heritage of Lower Alentejo” continued with visits, in Beja, to the Church of Our Lady of Prazeres and to the city’s Regional Museum.
