The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to the President Elect of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“Mister President Elect

On the occasion of Your Excellency’s election to the high office of President of the Republic of Poland, I want to address you, on behalf of the people of Portugal and in my own personal name, our warmest congratulations and best wishes in the exercise of the functions you have been called on to perform.

I am certain that, bilaterally, within the scope of our European partnership, as well as in the context of the Arraiolos Group, we will find renewed opportunities to deepen and develop the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two countries.

I beg you to accept, Mister President Elect, my wishes for Your Excellency’s personal wellbeing and for the prosperity and progress of the Polish people.
