The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Zambia, Edgar Lungu.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“Mister President,

I am addressing Your Excellency to convey, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our warmest congratulations and best wishes for success in the fulfilment of your high office.

I am certain that, during Your Excellency’s mandate, relations between Portugal and Zambia will find new opportunities to be developed and deepened.

Reaffirming our sincere congratulations I beg you to accept, Mister President, my best wishes for your personal well-being and for the growing progress of the People of Zambia.
