President Cavaco Silva sent condolences to his Philippine counterpart on the consequences of the typhoon Haiyan

The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Head of State of the Philippines, Benigno S. Aquino, over the consequences of the passing of Typhoon Haiyan in various areas of the Country.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva;

“Mister President, Excellency,

I have been following with the deepest of regrets the tragic consequences of the passage of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

In this moment of great sorrow, I wish to transmit to Your Excellency and to the Philippine people, on behalf of the people of Portugal and in my own personal name, the expression of our deepest grief and heartfelt solidarity.
