The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of Ermelinda de Freitas.

Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:

“I deeply regretted the news of the passing away of Mrs. Ermelinda de Freitas, head of the prestigious wine growing company which carried her name located in Terras do Sado.

Due to her meritorious work, carried out jointly with her daughter, Dra. Leonor de Freitas, the House of Ermelinda de Freitas grew, became modernized and an example of good management and innovation and one of the foremost national wine producing and marketing companies.

I thus want to render my sincere tribute to Mrs. Ermelinda de Freitas, a worthy follower of several generations of enterprising women, and address heartfelt condolences to her Family.
