The President of the Republic sent a message of condolences to the new President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, upon the passing away of President John Atta Mills.

Following is the text of the message of condolences from President Cavaco Silva:

“Upon being advised of the passing away of President John Atta Mills, I want to address Your Excellency and the People of Ghana, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our heartfelt condolences, and would beg you to forward to the bereaved family the expression of our deepest regrets.
