The President of the Republic attended the closure of the Annual Meeting of the Council of the Portuguese Diaspora, which brought together, in the Citadel Palace, in Cascais, several dozen councillors from the various continents and political, economic and entrepreneurial executive officers.

Filipe de Botton, Chairman of the Council of the Diaspora, thanked the President of the Republic for his endeavours and, on behalf of the Councillors, paid a tribute to the Head of State and Honorary President of that institution, presenting him with a painting.

Following this, President Cavaco Silva delivered an address.
